Celebrating Dance since 1975

Jenza began her dance training in 1975 with notable dance instructors like Feiruz, Aisha Ali, and Marina.  She first appeared as a professional on October 3rd, 1977.   Jenza was hired on the spot by Lou Shelby of the Cascades to become a house dancer.  She will never forget the day Lou hired her, and remembers him and the famed Cascades venue as her all time favorite.  Jenza went on to work an intense 7 nights a week as a house dancer at numerous other celebrated clubs, including The 7 Veil, Coco’s Nightclub, Ali Babas’, Sahara Supper Club, Aladdin’s, The Apadana, The Moroccan House, Marrakesh, Casa Del Sol, and Little Armenia. She also had regular appearances in places like Cabaret Tehran, The Fez, Haji Babas, Athenian Gardens, and Byblos to name just a few.

Jenza’s reputation as both a beautiful and exceptionally talented dancer spread quickly and she was soon presented with opportunities to dance in films, as well as perform for celebrities and royalty. One such notable performance was for the Prince of Oman at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 1979. She also appeared in the comedy film, Stoogemania starring Josh Mostel, son of Zero Mostel.

Throughout her career, Jenza always found enjoyment in teaching dance and inspiring others to pursue their dreams of dancing professionally. Her classes and workshops have been popular all over the United States, and have even taken her to the other side of the world. In May of 1986, Jenza became the first foreign dance instructor invited to teach and perform on a tour of New Zealand’s major cities. While in New Zealand, she was interviewed by Veronica Allum on the City of Auckland’s fine arts radio show, and reported in The Wellington City Magazine.

Jenza married, and although her beautiful daughter Elayssa was born in 1980, she continued her career as a professional nightclub dancer until 1994. Today, Jenza continues her work as a sought-after instructor in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. She also devotes time to supporting her mother’s costume designing, and her daughter’s own creative endeavor, the acclaimed Elysium Dance Theatre. It's all in the family!
